Mobile Gaming is the quite or maybe be most attractive market for today. Last we heard that Unity (Game Engine) has plunged not only the game engine provider but also publisher of mobile games. The latest news today comes from Facebook. They announced that Facebook now will have a special division, a publishing division of mobile games.
This means developers can small to medium or Facebook and offer their games. If interested then Facebook Facebook will help the developer to market the game through Facebook.com. Of course the developer can buy advertising slots on Facebook separately but according to Facebook is not a lot of indie developers who have resources (read: money) to advertise on Facebook optimally.
Funny thing is, even if Facebook was trying to bring small and medium-sized developers into their program but now they are working with Gameloft and Gamevil that in fact a giant in the world of mobile gaming. At this early stage that Facebook itself will choose developers that they will be going to work with so there is no manual submission process of the developer.
Facebook also will not fund a game, you or the developer is expected to have to have a game that is so. Not to be discussed further how Facebook can help game developers to be able to deploy a wider Facebook but promised that they would do more than just advertising on Facebook.com
More and more large companies that enter into the world of mobile gaming makes the gaming industry changed quite dramatically in recent years. First you have to make a game with great effort only to see it sink in a sea of App Store and Google Play. Now many reputable publisher ready to publish your game as long as the game has exciting gameplay and potential for sale.
Two local developers we also have done more or less the same thing, such as Agate with Up in Flame is published by Chillingo and Nightspade with Nuclear Outrun game is published by Gamenauts. If you asked me then now is the time to get serious in the world of mobile gaming (college and work).
